Snow Is Finally Melting

Finally, for the first time since just before Christmas, I can get in to the garage. I had a bunch of big A$$ pine branches come down during the ice storm and to clear a path out of the house I dragged them in front of both garage doors. The next day started the cycle of freezing rain, snow, slight melt, 400 degrees below zero and then more snow. At the peak, the mound was over 5' high. It is now down to about 3' so I can crawl in and see how everything is.

I have so many plans for the pig for this year and now I can finally get some grease under my nails. Luckily, the car was running very well at the end of last year and the stuff I want to do is WANT rather than MUST do's. Looking forward to this weekend a lot.

I just don't see how I am supposed to be on track in 3 weekends? Anybody have some studded 225x45x15 tires?

Eric

..hmmmm..
Early morning/no coffee brain storm...
They should make snow tires for cars out of snow mobile treads..
they seem to do the job effectively for some reason.

Plus,..IF the car IS an RX7..we got the "sounds like a freakin snowmobile" down path too!!
SO,that ultimately means that WE can run our cars IN snow..lol!

I'd be happy with just 3". We got dumped on again here last night. Also the snowmobile track idea has been taken already. Check it out!

I spoke to soon in the middle of a blizzard AGAIN. At this point 6+ inches and still coming. Just empty the gas in the snowblower this week!, silly me. At this rate may need the snowmobile tracks to go to DGRR.

Eric, drove by your place about a month ago and could not believe the amount of branches curbside at almost every house. Kindling for a lifetime!

What do you think of this exhaust system I picked up?

Could of had an new SDJ header in LA last week for the same price but this just looked like a better package.

Okay, now I think mother nature is out to get me. I had all kinds of plans to go out and work on the car today, but the melt on Friday combined with the freeze today has meant that the snow and ice started to melt off the branches and then when the temps dropped a ton again, they melted against the garage door and basically locked it shut.......

Need to wait until there is a thaw again and then I can pull the mound away from the door further so that I can get in there. Just to give you guys some idea as to the size, just at my house, the mound is 20 feet across by 5 feet high by 5 feet across. Some of the branches are 6 inches across and most are bigger than 4 inches in diameter. Its going to take me about 2 days to cut them up enough to get them out to the street when the city comes out to pick them up.

So to support my desire to do some motorsport stuff, I built a 1/25 scale model of the Connie Kalitta Bounty Hunter Funny Car from 1973. First model I have built in over 20 years and it was surprisingly fun.
