Talking Shots of #23 CCTCC Car from Earlier Today

Thought you guys might be interested in 2 videos Dave shot earlier today. This is the first time the car has been on its wheels since last fall. With all of the suspension mods the car is "REAALLLYY, REAALLLY" low. Its all Dave's fault, really. I kept telling him its too low, but he wouldn't listen.

Actually it was me who was pushing the design to the edge. Based on the rule package, the car needs to come up about 2 inches. Oh well, no issues just wind up the perches.

Regarding the motor, it runs great. if you listen to me blipping the throttle, it picks up 1500 rpm like nothing. The map is just the one that Renns loaded into our MegaSquirt and the car runs great. It idles steady as a rock at 1200 rpm and picks up the rpm from that point cleanly. Watch the video's and tell me what you think.

Sorry for the quality as the videos were taken with Dave's phone camera.

I will take better shots and video's tomorrow.

That is one nasty sounding machine. Should send shivers up the spines of your competitors.
My Rex has a blown turbo gasket and sounds loud and crappy, yours on the other hand sounds sweet and nasty.
If it goes like it sounds, you should be in for a great racing season with this set up.

Wink Really Sorry for the Quality.

Actually, in the clips I posted the car sounds like some kind of cross between a loping old stock car and a rotary, LOL. In reality it sounds just like a rotary, but a lot harsher. The sounds kinda overwhelmed the microphone on Dave's phone camera.

What is really cool is how crisp the throttle response is. The car picks up revs like a light switch. I now know why the Aussies use this kind of setup. It revs up like it has a 2 lb flywheel. The other thing is that the settings are a bit off on the timing and fuel maps so I can hardly wait to put it on a chassis dyno and have it tuned.

Really big problem is that the car is soooooo low now that I can't even get it back into the garage or put it on the trailer without taking the nose off. The exhaust is only 1 inch off the ground!!!!! Last year with a bigger collector I had 3 inches. I put a 1 inch thinner cross section collector on and it sits 2 inches lower, WTF!!!!!

With the suspension mods we made the car sits 2 inches lower overall. The roof line is only as high as the middle of my chest and the top of the front fender is only mid thigh.

Might just have to put some neon under the rockers, titanium blocks on the chassis and go out panel dragging for sparks.

Talking Better Quality Photos and Video

Here are some.

http://video.google.ca/videoplay?doc...57026121160877

and another...

This is what it sounds like. Just need to improve the tune a bit. I have a few better resolution photos, but they are too large. I will downsize and add tomorrow.
