Shipping an Exhaust

Hey guys, just curious if any of you have shipped an exhaust before. Online quotes are really giving me a range of numbers. I have the rough shape being 65"X23"X23" and need it shipped 1200 miles. I have got "online quotes" varying from 180-700, and that just seems wrong. I have called for assistance and they just direct me to the online calculator.... If anyone has some advice on a company or what not, that would be great. Hoping to get shipping under 200, possible?

I think your first issue is you are using people that do online quotes. Your best bet will be with a shipping company, trucking company etc. (Not a courier.)

I had a small pallet weighing about 120lbs (including a full exhaust with header) plus a bunch of other parts ship from Racing Beat in California to Halifax, Nova Scotia, a heck of a lot more than 1200 miles, for less than $200. Took a week or so. They shipped it with BAX Global.

Have you tried Canada Post? They tend to be cheaper if you want to go through the hassle.

Hmm cant find baxglobal website, brings up some weird search engine. All and all need to get something from Chicago to Saskatchewan... I was going to make a long roadtrip but some buddies just backed out. Looking into trucks/freights now, post recommendations if you have any.

Yeah, I just noticed if you go to www.baxglobal.com, it gives a message saying they have merged with DB Schenker and forwards you.

Either way, you'll probably have best luck with a similar logistics company. The only downside is to send and receive, you'll probably have to go to a local industrial park, as these places rarely have neighbourhood depots.

Schenker was the name on our paperwork when we picked up the pallet.
