Sema 2006

Well, looks like we're almost ready to fly out to Vegas and check out what's in store for us performance buffs. There are a lot of new toys and exciting tech to be seen. I'll be sure to post up some of the more interesting tidbits and hopefully lay down some mouthwatering stuff for us to pine over.

This time around, what happens in Vegas does NOT stay in Vegas!!!

One fifth of the SEMA grounds...man, a million square feet is a lot of space to cover in a week.

Missed Joe of Classic Auto twice....

Me, test driving a BMW Z4 M-Coupe in Nevada's Valley of Fire last Saturday. The body is full carbon fiber and runs on a trick Vogtland coilover suspension. A very fast, super light track terror...

I got about 3500 images and 10 hours of film. You're gonna have to pick up the magazine to get the rest

I'll post up more once I resize some of the pics.

DAMB, just realized the other 7 pics are on her camera....another day....but here's some more of some pretty units that showed up to the party

There's a nice off road beetle, a Toyota R?2000, a stunning supra, a truck toolbox (super cool) and a nice widebody Z with the mark of the Pro's paintwork on it

The first two here are from NACE. This truck had more custom bodywork done to it then you can shake a stick at. Just couldn't keep this one away from the prying eyes of the 7 community. It was a 94 Chevy 1500 2WD.

Next is a neato rad endtank setup that I swear Ive seen elsewhere, but nonetheless is a very cool idea. Carriage head bolts make bracket mounting have infinite possibilities.

Then another of the MANY jaw-dropping 'stangs....

And lastly a pic of a twin turbo setup with a wastegate position designed to deafen pedestrians - LOL

Here is a nice example of "hot-rod-if-ication" and one of my favourite paint colours...

Next a trick 300.....and a matching micro-machine to boot!!

And the Ford F-650, now even though he's asian...he's not that short!! That thing was a freakin TOWER!!

And a funcitonal Viper....mmmmm......

First here is an "interesting" pinstripe Marta found on a nice Dodge deisel pickup.

and second we have this beautiful chopped/channelled old school FJ at the Toyota booth.

The Turner BMW....

A new rabbit with (IMHO) a sick paint/colour scheme.

And lastly (for now) a pick of what I drove around the desert in. Its no BMW...lol...although I contemplated renting one of the several Vipers that were available on the strip, I decided with the health care system in the states, its probably best if I stick with an Enterprise rent-a-car haha

The red Toyota is a 2000GT... has to be my all time favorite sports car. It was actually a Bond car at one point believe it or not.

The Toyota Dealership not too far from my house has a completely restored one in the showroom - stunning. It was hard to concentrate on the new cars with it lurking in the background!

Great pics. Regardless of the canvas, the workmanship put into some of those cars is absolutely stunning, and nothing makes it pop quite like an awesome paint job. I don't necessarily mean wild colours or designs either. A solid colour that looks 3 miles deep is such an art form - and something I love seeing!

Maybe I need classicauto to do some work to my car!

Actually Mike, the little plaque they had infront of it DID say one of the cars was used in the movie....but I dunno if they made them into convertibles or not - at the age I was when I watched most of the old bond movies, I wouldn't be able to tell you what he drove.

It also said that only 6 or 8 were ever built....and average retail on the car is 2 million!!

Just to clarify, this is Flawless Rides' new RX-7. Although it has the BRS body kit the rest was done by a Southern California company called Flawless Rides. You can check out our website at www.flawlessrides.com

Thanks for stopping in and checking out our vehicle! Hope you had an awesome time at SEMA. Look for us at the 2007 SEMA show where we will unveil our Infiniti G35 Coupe.
