Well...it looks like Sunday's weather is looking better.

 

The weather report is definately improving! It's starting to look like that the rain is going to hit late Sunday night and mostly on Monday. And Rita is no longer a big cat. 4 bitch but a nuisance. That'll help gas prices stay on the low end.

Looks like I'm going to be at prudhommes at 11-11:30 then taking off to Walker's line and Hwy 5.

2k2 and murray16 just give me a shout. Sonic slept in and probably be meeting up in HWY20 Mud St.

 

I am really tired but I wanted to say I had a blast today.

Only one police incident.

Two breakdowns but no tow trucks since we fixed them both.

No rain despite the morning cloud cover that scared away alot of people.

Thanks to Mr. Zoom for taking the lead and organizing a good route.

Thanks to Mark(10year7) for picking a restaurant.(Shame about Big Anthony though )

Thanks to the two bikers that helped me when you all left me for dead.

It was great to see everyone again and to meet everyone that i haven't seen before. I had lots of fun on the cruise even though my car wasn't running all that great.

Yes, it was another successful "cruise"..

It wasn't as fast as years past, but that's probably a good thing. It was the first time for many of the RX-8 people...

It was an official RX-7/8 meet when Marshal's car had the alternator belt come off... Graciously Alvin helped him get back on the road..

Cops were also involved when Alex decided to get a bit sideways coming onto the street... suffice to say the cop was not amuzed! LOL!!!

And then we had Lawyer's Spirit car pop it's intercooler pipe off.... I didn't know what was going on becuase I was talking on the phone at the time that happened... If I knew that happened (or if Hellbreed listened to the FRS) we would have stopped... but thankfully there were a couple of bikers who helped him out...
I'm surprised nobody else stopped for him...

Thanks go out to 10year7 for picking out the restaurant... haven't had Italian food in awhile...

There will be a few mini-meet's for the local people before we put our cars away...

Great cruise everyone! We all had a great time and were smart about everything. Thanks goes out to everyone there yesterday for making it a good cruiae including officer White. Lee, did ya end up making it to Hamilton in time for your close up? See ya all on Thursday. I hope certin people had a good drive home last night (you know who you are)

 

Great Cruise

It was nice to get some kilometers on the RX-7 even if I didnt get to see it turn 100k's on the trip (Mazda tech got to see that happen)

Jen sent me some pictures this morning and said that she was glad she came along for the ride.

Now maybee I can convince her to get an RX8 instead of a Mazda 3.

sky was cloudy, car was moving, windshield was blocking, and part of the cruise was even gone; but no more excuses so here are the pics and a vid (stupid me, was trying to record the sound but my window was not open):

I was at the back of the pack to make sure that no-one got lost or stranded since I had an FRS and cell with me. We made a 180 degree turn and I planted the throttle for the hundredth time that day and I heard very loud POP. Starting losing power and eventually died. I honestly thought I blew up my first rotary but after a regained composure I realised I just blew off an intercooler hose creating a massive vacuum leak.

Thankfully a couple of bikers stopped and asked me "is that a wankel"? I didn't know how to answer since I didn't want to become anyone's gimp. But the truth prevailed, they wew\re really into the car and had lots of questions. They gave me a bungee cord to hold up the intercooler since it had lost its retaining bolt and then gave me directions to the next pitstop. Super nice people.

 

Sweet guys, glad you had fun!! Where is that pic with the temples taken? That would make for some sweet photo opp before i put my car away!!

I had fun also, got to see new faces and some I already knew. The cruise started off really nice , too bad I coundnt finish all the way. Oh well next year .

 

Wow! I had a blast. Man is my *** sore from driving from 8am to 10:30pm. I suspect that LawyerSpirit may be suffering from the same though from a different affliction involving two bikers and a bungy cord. What a great route (minus the search in Niagara).

Looking forward to the next cruise...come on Spring!!!
