rx-7 vs mk3

I was driving my Mk3 supra on the northbound dvdp tonight and i ran against a nice black third gen rx-7. Did it belong to any one on this forum? was a nice race. Your car has some nice acceleration.

Street racing in Ontario, good idea, what with the new law that will have your car impounded and you licence suspended for one week if you get caught.

I know its not the brightest thing to do PERIOD (with or without the new laws), but when its 230 am on the DVP and there is minimal traffic, and you have a car like my 89 supra turbo with open exhaust from the turbo back sitting at 3500 rps directly next to a third gen rx7 with his own exhaust open and that sweet rotary sound behind it, Its hard to not see what’s good with the two cars ( some of the best jap rivals, so it had to go down).
As i said, he put up a great fight, and it wisent till half way through 4th , where i got the pull after him.
His car ummm, Black (could have been a dark blue as it was night, hard to see details), aftermarket exhaust (i assume that from his muffler being aftermarket), had the stock spoiler form what i can remember, and i believe the plates were custom (don’t rem what they said)

Remembering those plates is not going to happen. I think it was like 5-6 letters worth. Could have started with an m or an a. Really though, i don’t remember.

To the ones preaching safety, save it for someone who gives a ****.
To the OP, i know how hard it is to resist an opportunity like that.

How much rwhp are u making with your supra? I am guessing it was a mildly modded fd if it couldnt beat your car????

Whats up Smitter?

"i know how hard it is to resist an opportunity like that.

I have always wanted to go head to head with a third gen. oppertunity struck and i took it (and id do it again too if the conditions were right).

TO the wheels = 280 HP and 288 Ft/Tq. i don't know the mods he had, other than exhaust.

IM still with the stock AFM, so i have plenty more to give, but can't without the mods. had i been able to utilize the full potential of my turbo it would be a lot more.

I've got the stock AFM on my '87 MKIII and am making just north of 400.

There's not a lot of "mildly modded" FD's that would keep up with mine in a straight line

woot for other MK3 owners on this forum!

As far as the stunting law BS goes, I think we all know what the laws are. No need to remind everyone about how shitty ontario is.

400 on the stock afm is nice. I take it you ditched the ct26 / ( o rtrimed it), for something better, or have a piggyback/stand alone setup. If i could avoid fuel cut, id put her to 15psi(with supporting mods), which would put me close to the 400 (370 ish)range (from crank). You ever go to the supra meets? Mk’3s are too over looked, hence why if a fd rx loses it has to be “mildly modded”. I love both cars. So in the end its all one love. Nice to see another mk3 owner.

I've got a td07/20g and have an S-AFC. exhaust and piping and stuff but no other major mods.

it's surprisingly easy to make these real fast.

well right now i have a nice package deal , aem wideband, lex afm, rc 550's, FPR, 2.5 HP, wlbro 255, but before i put them in , im wondering how long till the HG goes pop. did the td07 bolt up to the stock mani, or did you have to fabricate / buy one?

So is this marco man the one i raced? any one know his stats / mods?
