The rotary travel thread

I thought I would start this thread, mainly due to boredom. But lets face it, I travel alot in my Rx-7 lately while my truck is in the shop. I put 400kms on it alone driving to work for my rotation, and another 400kms on the way back.

Today I made a 150km trip from Red Deer, AB to Calgary and nailed about 9L/100kms calculated by hand. About 18-19L per that 150kms. Thats about 26MPG, with the cruise set to about 130-135kmph. I think thats pretty good myself. I havent even trimmed out the fuel yet on the Fcon, but I might be able to gain a little more.

Comparitively, my truck averages about 13-14L/100kms at 120kmph. Wifes car, 2008 Pontiac G5, gets about 7L/100 on the highway at 120kmph.

I build (and am still building) my car to do highway miles. I love road trips and cruises. Its nice to burn around on the track and strip now and then, but with all the open country around here, there's so much blacktop unattended.

Cheers.
