Rides at M.O.M.
Rides at M.O.M.
Okay its official! The passenger seat is in! We will be giving rides at Cayuga on the road course at the Meeting of the Mazdas. There will be a fee of $5.00 per lap all of which which goes to Sick Childrens Hospital in Toronto. We are trying out a new transmission combination so hopefully the car will work for the day! The rides will go between 12 noon and 3pm (or until the car get tired and runs out of gas!)
Well, I spoke to Uli Bieri who is the track owner and he is committed to working with us to make this happen. We just ran into a road block with the transmission swap but it should be fine. Hopefully we will get it sorted out tonight. The transmission is 94-97 miata internals in a 2nd gen case. We have tranny mount issues bit hopefully the spare tailhousing we have here will retro fit.
ahhh good, I know they're pretty sticky about noise on the road course....and its sooo dumb because they'l have 8 second cars doing burnouts and test & tune, then they whine about the brapping coming from the road course!
Oh well...zoning is what it is
Count me in for a ride! Ya know, to help the sick kids and all

We got it all together at about 11pm last night and drove it around the dealership to make sure it worked! I only set off 2 building alrams in the process. We have a whole new exhaust system on the car we are trying as well as the MX-7 (my new nickname for the tranny) transmission. Hopefully it will all stay together for the rides! (lol)
Was searching for threads and this thread title caught my eye .... maybe I have a not so innocent mind.
BTW, I always have and will appreciate all of the contributions Al has made to the club. Hats off to you sir.
