I got a stone crack in my windshield yesterday coming back from an autocross an hour and a half south of Calgary... it's at least 22 years old, so in Alberta, that's like geologic timescales when it comes to windshields. Moses might have brought it down from the mountain with the tablets. I took it to my favourite glass shop this morning (because in Calgary, windshield replacements are usually about every other year, once the accumulated breaks become too much, so having a preferred glass shop is normal). Usually I get a quote of anywhere from $200 to $250 for windshields that, like the 7's, have the tint band, but are otherwise unremarkable (although there is of course the antenna in the FC windshield). I was told it was only available from Mazda in Japan, for about $1300 (!!!!). The shop did do a repair on my crack, which hopefully will keep it from growing, although it's still visible down low on the windshield.

So has anyone replaced an FC windshield recently? I found some threads from 2016 here in the Canadian section, but nothing suggesting sky-high replacement costs.

I got one with tint and antenna for 260 not installed not OE Mazda. they are out there but require time and work to find them.
