SK

I just bought an FD that came with a set of these, their in fairly decent shape just need a little refinishing, not sure what color I should do, I like the pale gold look but they do look pretty damn good blacked out like that also. Mine dont have the center caps either

This is what the finished result was after I blasted and powder coated them if anyone is interested.

Yep the finish looks great, I'm a little hesitant to start sanding and polishing which is part of the reason I haven't updated the thread in a long time. Along with the fact I simply don't have much time.

You outsource them Sam, or do you do the coating in house? If you do it in House what Gun are you using?

He does it in house. Did my rim centers as well, they turned out fantastic.

lol I've been avoiding this project because I'm scared to ruin to the barrels by sanding them wrong or something before I polish the lips.
A couple of them COULD use some lip repair too but they aren't really noticeable with the tires on.
It won't be much longer until I start it up again though - I just organized my garage and got a nice new work bench so I have a sweet place to work now.

Whatever happened with these? I've always wanted a set of MS-01's but, I've always wanted to get them re-barreled for deeper offsets.

Had a ton of other projects on the go and these have been sitting in my garage waiting for me to get some time to finish them. What's left is to sand and polish the barrels, and refinish the hardware. I am thinking of selling them once they're done since I could use the money elsewhere on the car, but it may turn out I like them too much.

I've been warned never to take mine apart. Something to do with factory torque settings, and it being dangerous. I've heard this from many different places. Are you worried about assembling yours ?

No. They're two piece wheels not 3 piece, so it's not like they are holding the barrels together. I've read that torquing them to anywhere between 18-24 ft-lbs is fine even for wheels that sandwich the front and rear halves of barrels together. If you're worried about bolts coming loose just put some red thread lock on.
