Place in GTA for turbo rebuilds
Hey All,
I've had my turbo awaiting parts for a rebuild at Mister Turbo in Toronto for 6 months. I know that there have been difficulties in obtaining certain things due to supply chain disruption but this is starting to feel ridiculous. Are there any other good shops in GTA one could recommend for this type of service? Thanks.

I debated this very same thing 3 seasons ago. I couldn’t find any turbo shops locally that would do the work nor did I get a phone call from any shop I left a message with. Knowing what I know about “shops” I wasn’t going to just “trust” my turbo to anyone.
In truth if I had the equipment I would’ve done the work myself. Alas, since mine was a ball bearing turbo, I simply didn’t want to take any chances.
After doing some research and looking at some reviews, I sent my turbo of too: https://www.turbopartscanada.ca/pages/contact-us
Yes, this meant I had to remove the turbo myself and have it shipped out. For those who don’t have a garage to do such work or simply are afraid of doing some wrenching, well, you have limited options.
I sent the turbo out, and it was back in my hands within 2.5 weeks. Have no idea why anyone would take longer than 6 months to do a turbo rebuild. That’s insane.
I would recommend TPC.

An update which might be useful to Toronto members. The place that Neo suggested was helpful and after reviewing photos of my setup were happy to take on the rebuild. I spoke to Mr. Turbo in the city and he felt the delays were due to manufacturers not particularly interested in making parts for vintage units. He also was a little leery at breaking into my Cartech unit which had further been butchered by a third party after the original IHI turbo failed a few years back. But he refused my offer to pay him for the time to perform an internal biopsy just to see if the unit was repairable otherwise I would go back to sidedraft weber. He rebuilt it to better than previous condition and to his satisfaction with some custom machining of a Nissan 300ZX Turbo center casing as a replacement piece. Mr. Turbo is definitely an extremely experienced engineer who delivers quality and ethical work.

Wow, that looks nice! Good to know there are still some honest and conscientious shops here.
