Pics of My New Cat
For those of you who are interested, these are shots I took last night. I had to move the car out of the garage to build the new shop and of course it has started to rain, snow, etc.... Man I wish I lived in Ocala Fla. sometimes.
Anyways take a look at the before shots. I plan on returning the car to white after we replace/ repair the bad panels and refreshing the drivetrain.
Don't worry, last night we went over to pat the RX7 and put the hoses back on. I have to put coolant back in and get it ready to rock again.

And Now Underhood
Here are some shots from underhood. I went from having the best handling, most neutral car with a tiny keg making decent power, to haveing the huge lump of a motor stuck way up high over and above the front wheels.
What is sad is that the Cougar will more than likely go about 4 seconds a lap faster at Mosport, just on power and gearing alone. As well it was cheaper to buy this car than upgrade the RX7 to go that fast. Oh well, remember it is always cheaper to buy a used racecar and rebuild it, than build one from scratch. I now agree with Al.

The pipe is made from carbon fibre and glass fibre. The interior is smooth. I need to replace the wire reinforced canvas connectors with silicone hose.
Just one of the many detail things I need to do before the car is on track again.

hey Eric, quick/random question for you because i figured you might know.
i am helping a friend replace the fluids in his 2000 V6 Cougar. the owner's manual says the manual transmission takes Mercon ATF, is that correct? i guess it is a Ford thing...

The manual says to use Mercon ATF. I think for a street car the Mercon ATF works very well, but I would lean towards a synthetic product like a Redline for temp stability. On my race car I am planning on using Redline Shockproof light. It has a dogbox and is abused pretty bad.
I say I am planning too as Redline seems to be out of stock on this product around here. Delays, delays, delays..................sheesh I am looking at end of June for its first on-track sessions, now.
