Pics, FD near ready for season with it new 18" shoes

Hello,

So as some of you know, I sold my 1974 RX4 and thus decided to keep my 17500 original mile FD. I am very sad the RX4 had to go but I could not keep them both. Again, sorry to those who were interested in my car since I chose not to sell. The RX4 sold first.

The FD is almost ready for the season. A few minor details left. Nothing mechanical

A full repaint last week to make her look brand new again so it matches the low 17500 mile chassis (some minor dings and scratches after 16 years really bugged me).

They aren't the best pictures as I took them with my IHPONE but it will have to do.

The wheels are new 3 Piece Genesis Wheels produced by Imperi Japan.
I am not sure yet if I will keep the wheels. Not sure if I love the chrome. I might have them painted silver or gunmetal grey. Opinions are welcome. The tires are new Nitto Invo's.

What's planned and on the way:
New front and rear OEM mud guards, was not easy to find new sets.
New R1 front chin spoiler/lip.
Front strut bar.

The rest of the car will stay 100% stock and original, no mechanical mods of any sort. No rear spoiler.

Looking forward to another enjoyable season.

Regards,

Max

Hello

Not only did I find new mud guards but I managed to find SSM (my color) for the fronts and had choice of either red or white for the rears which I will obviously have painted. I might have the fronts painted as well if they are not a 100% match.

They still have another set of SSM for the fronts and some reds plus some reds for the rears but when I got in touch with them they mentioned that a guy was just about to buy every unit they had. I can send you the contact info if you like. They came form the TX, USA.

Regards

Nice car!
Sure we need mud guards. I moto cross my car at least three times a year on dirt tracks its great-Joke-not quite. I am even afraid to take it out in the rain and avoid that.

I want the guards for two reasons. I think they look good, at least the molded OEM ones do. Two, it has been my experience that when you put larger wider wheels on a car they it usually will have the ill effect of stones eating up at the back side of bottom portion of the fenders. The guards do help with that. I have seen many FD's with chips and minor rust in those areas. My offsets are +38 so my wheels do not stick out but it will still kick up road crap all over.

Anyway, if anyone wants the contact info for a set PM.

Regards

Max

Car looks fantastic. I would suggest a wheel colour that contrasts with the silver. Perhaps gunmetal, or black.
