Photos neglected 1st gens

I was visiting a friend in a neighboring town. I spotted these poor creatures on the side of the highway. Shame. I didn't really inspect them for parts seeing how they are just simply neglected. I should have left a note in the windowshields to see if the owner(s) were parting them out.

There one down the street from me at an apartment building. He drives it in the winter and its been hit on the driver rear side. Both rear wheels are spares, and the rear 1/4 is FULL of bondo... so sad.

Buy them up, rebuild them, and then continue the enjoyment of them.

These cars will continue to gain value every year that there are fewer and fewer of them out there. The low point of their Blue Book value has long since passed, and most people who drive them today do so for the love of the design, the performance, and the feeling.

FYI - the car in my signature line (wow, still works!) is at 197k miles on the original engine and I'm still driving it on weekends and errands...

we'll all look back on the days, when we saw these laying around like this - then one day it will occure to us "geez, we never see any dead RX's anymore...". Went thru the same thing when I had an R100 - there were dead ones all over the place in the mid 70s - parking lots, side streets, in gas stations, wrecking yards, Mazda dealership service depts... then they all faded away. Kinda sad...

Tragedy

I love the unique 7's. Shame that there are fewer around. But, I am greatful whenever I find them in the bone yard. It reminds me that they are still out there enough to always make a presence in a salvage yard. Some late vehicles have disappeared all together. I do not hesitate to put money or time into the car. But, when some one owns the car and does nothing with it or to it, than it is purely neglected. Tommys gives his car better care than most parents give their kids these days!

I own a GT 05, and enjoy driving the 7 more.
