Over 6 months in the making.....
This has to be one of the biggest builds I have done for a customer yet, aside from our own RX-4 wagon resto.
So I thought I'd share some pics of the finished product.
I've been working away on this project for easily over six months in between all the other 23556 projects that I have on the go. Ray (ourxseven) has been an awesome customer, told us exactly what he wanted and has been very paitient with us while we slowly put his car together. Something like this cannot be rushed!
The vert was sent to Dino's autobody in Guelph for a complete body resto and new coat of paint. As well as the engine bay painted the same glossy color as the exterior. (Installing everything in the engine bay was fun while not trying to scratch the paint )
Every little bracket, connector, bolt, nut, hose, o-ring was either sandblasted, powder coated, painted or replaced.
The orignal motor had a cracked center iron, so we replaced it with a good used one and full rebuilt the motor as well as slightly porting the intakes and exhaust ports.
A new clutch kit, Bonez down pipe, Sneed Speed Sport Electric fan and aluminum shroud were also installed.
In the end, the car looks amazing and runs great! It seems to me that Ray is going to enjoy the car alot, he kept drooling over the pictures I sent him of the progress LOL.
Here are a few pics of before and after

Hahaha yea I realize there is no hood, it looked pretty cool with out it on plus I was by myself at the shop at midnight last night when I took those pics, wasn't going to put the hood on myself!
The signal lens are just brand new OEM S5 ones. They won't fit in S4 bumpercovers though.

When I went to the shop the other month to drop my car off it was the first car that I couldn't take my eyes off of.
The paint just looks like glass.
It's just amazing in person.

This is gonna sound crazy but I *HAVE* to know what kind of rims those are.
They look almost exactly like the '83LE rims except they fit on a 2nd Gen and are larger.
It would be awesome because then I could do the 2nd Gen "Big Brake" kit from ReSpeed with the TII 4-pot calipers and the larger vented/slotted discs and different bolt pattern and still keep the same look I have with the '83LE rims!
And that car is abso-frikkin'-lutely gorgeous. I've gotta get mine to that stage at some point. It's coming... but I'll need 10k to do it. 4k for the engine, 4k for the paint job, and 2k for the miscellaneous stuff like fluids, labour, sandblasting, powdercoating, etc...

Joe and Dan,
The R.P.M. results have exceeded the promises. How many times does that happen.
Thanks for all your skill and artistry on the rebuild and working the ideas we came up with. A great job at a fair price. What else can you ask for.
Can't wait for the last few details to get cleaned up and get that car on the twisty's. !!
