Ottawa Meet Pics
Here's some pics from today. Only got one at the meet itself before I dropped the camera. The rest are at Will's place...
First one is Feds repairing a blown brake hard line. Jeez, and this is BEFORE the cruise!
There one of Vipernicus getting ready to use John's toy - a legitimate Mazda rotary compression tester!
Stupid weather! Again!

And the last one....
Thanks to Will for his hospitality, and what would have been a great view if the weather was better.

Smaller turnout this year, I blame the weather mostly.
But it was still fun, and I got to do a compression test on my car thanks to John's official mazda digital rotary compression tester

Lots today on the cruise, and my compression-fitting-in-the-parking-lot-in-the-rain-brake-fluid-everywhere brake fix held up great!
We're still waiting to hear the total for the carnage, but this was a pretty interesting meet.

Feds did just fine. Some others, not so much...
Wtf is the attraction between FBs and ditches?
Just got in. I've got a whole lotta pics to sort through. I'll try to get some up shortly...

351 pictures wiped out all the flash cards I had taken.
I'm posting them in the thread below to give the 56k guys a chance to avoid some misery.

this has to be the MOST UNSAFE JACKING JOB I'VE EVER SEEN!
wow.
cos it sure looks to me like along with no stand/tire/something under the car, that only about 1/4 of the jack is actually attached to the rocker panel, with the rest "jacking" up midair!
Remind me never to go under a car you've jacked up.

nice car though. Please don't let it squish you.
rest of the pics are awesome though, in both threads
Wish I coulda made it out.
Not to be a dead horse or anything but If you are under those shitty circumstances throw the wheel (that Is doing absolutely nothing for you at that point besides being In your way) below the rocker, next to the jack.
Last thing we want reported Is a member not being able to drive his car home for something than could have otherwise been avoided.
Looks like you guys had a good time. Keep those pics coming.

there were many people standing around the car giving "wonderful supportive and encouraging" comments who would have helped lift the lil 7 off Jamie had we heard much "wailing and gnashing of teeth".
after riding many hours in the cold and rain on my bike (leaning sideways into the wind so as not to be blown into oncoming traffic) I was hard pressed to remember why I wanted to ride it to Ottawa

I had a blast though.
there's something appealing about roling on the throttle in 6th gear and passing people with ease. almost like I was driving an FD eh?
Actually, the jack is not on the rocker panel at all, but on the suspension support (where the lower trailing arm bolts to the body). Much stronger, and flatter.
I should have put the wheel under the axle, but since
1. I could fit under the spot I was working without the jack, and
2. I was not pushing/pulling/otherwise moving the car while I was under there, I took the risk.
Yell all you want about the jacking job, but risk-assessment wise, I am much more concerned about what was going on sunday morning in PQ, than what went on Saturday in Kanata.

Thanks Tony, I have to get back in and re-finish the interior, but she's damned close to "finished"
