Does the law require a front plate on all cars?

Quebec only requires 1 as well.

Ontario need plates on the front and back, and putting it in your windshield isn't good enough.

Out here they have been cracking down on people without their front plate. Infact, they have been cracking down on everything to do with plates. I got a $200 ticket for having a clear plastic cover on my front plate.

i got pulled over for this crap last year, if that's the case, go easy with police, they might only make a record without giving u a ticket and let u go for the first time.

Safe to say that if they issue you two plates, you have to display two plates. Government agencies may not be cost effective a lot of the time, but they certainly don't give out more than they have to

When my car gets here from the dock in Halifax,
it'll be wearing it's front plate wide pride.

Just a thought...

I know a guy that knows a guy who keeps his front plate under the passenger seat attached to the remnants of a broken bracket. If he's stopped, he just tells the cop it broke that morning/afternoon, and gets a warning or a 24h fix-it notice.

That broken bracket trick is clever. Not sure it would work, but good thinking.

Nova Scotia and PEI also do not have front plates.

Doesnt work all the time. I got stopped a few times so I just put it back on the front bumper.

Saskatchewan doesn't require the front plate either.
