I'm still kinda new to the whole rotary engine thing, so excuse me if I'm missing something. But why didn't you go with rectangular ports instead of circular? It would make more sense to me to have a rectangular port. With your circular ports, the port duration (or tube diameter) is restricting the cross-sectional area of the port opening. Obviously, the port duration is dictated by the diameter of the aluminum tube you have stuck into the side of your housing. As you decrease port timing by using different sized (smaller) tubes, you're decreasing the width and area of the port which ultimately restricts airflow into the chamber. Conversely, if you are trying to use the widest tube as possible, the port duration may not be ideal. If you went with retangular ports, you could have a port as wide as possible without having an effect on the apex seals, and you could also have a port with as much duration as you wanted.

I would also think that a rectangular port would have much smoother air flow. I think this because as the apex seal passes by the circular port, you've got a port whose area descreases exponentially due to its circular shape, whereas with a rectangular port your port area decreasely linearly as the seal tip passes by, which would cause less air velocity change through the port, ultimately decreasing turbulance and increasing air volume into the chamber.

From what I've read, you seem like you really know what you're doing, so hopefull I don't seem like I'm trying to "preach to the choir". This is just something I've thought of after reading this thread... just wondering if my thoughts are correct or completely out in left field. What do you guys think?

B6t-

ive though about this as well, and if you look around really hard, racing beat has made these for a select few, including the 93 bonneville car.

on the flip side, ive been told that the square shape wont flow as muh though, but i highly doubt that, as a big square and a big circle cant be that different for the flow of an N/A motor, mabye be an issue on a huge 1000 hp 13b, but this is just my armchair feelings
