NEWEST RX7 owner
I just bought that rx7 off of maxvol, recieved the car today, needs quite some work, i will be coming to you guys for a lot of help, i thank you in advance.
There is a lot of work I plan to do to the car but first off i watn to fix this annoying problem. I was happy with the car and all but then when i close my garage door to go inside i tried to lock the door, the ignition key doesnt fit the doors (Seller failed to mention this). Could I just take another RX7's ignition, door, and trunk mechanisms and key and just slide them in? or do I need to get a mechanism refitted and how and where would i do that?
Also, does anyone now of a good and cheap bodyshop in the gta? i just want to get away with all the rust and a little dent in the fron fender.
will post pics later
Thanks
Carthik.

And be careful if you do find a body shop. GTA shops are all crooks.
Get a dremel and cut out that cancer yourself (It slices, dices, grinds, drills, etc etc). Cost is $100 at Canadian Tire for a full set (I don't think they sell battery operated ones but just in case, don't get one!) and once you get a dremel you'll use it quite a bit more than you would expect. And remember to save the cutouts for templates.
Any work you can do yourself can potentially save alot of money. It's always the labour where shops make thier money. Unless it's a bridge port or something ... just goto RPM for that.

well for the price, even with the new findings of the car (i hope thats it) its still worth it. I have a friend who can do all my bodywork , so all i need is suspension parts, handbrake parts, sunroof, power steering lines, and a decent set of rims and tires (will settle for a set of phone dials) and im good to go. I wanted to make an initial d replica of the white redsuns fc, but i feel gay wanting to put a turbo hood on a non turbo engine. oh, btw the car is I believe an S5.

how do i attach pics? oh and dr4900n I do have a dremel, well not a dremel but some canadian tire brand rotary tool. I use to be into RC and that came in handy alot. The main thing I have to do to this car is the suspension, I can buy a stock setup for 200 bucks, should i go for that or are there any other recomandations? ( i dont want to drop too much in the car now)

so i bought a whole lot of stuff to expect to work on the floor of the car, but to my surprise it was almost perfect, a very very tiny hole on the passenger side, tats it. here are some updates, just need to work on body and do the suspension then clean the interior and re -install. did some bodywork.

Oh wow.
And I had trouble getting my center box thing (the box next to the parking brake) out so I could clean the interior.
Looking good.

Good luck to you too. I had to pull it all out with tools I found in the car :p Luckily it came with some sweet stuff. Full tire change kit (jack, unfolding tire blocks, etc) and a handy 7-driver (A screw driver in the shape of a Y with a bit at each end).
Unfortunately since I'm only in TO for a short period of time and I had no real intention of buying a car and I didn't bring any tools with me other than a screwdriver and my multitool.
Still got the whole rear interior ripped out though in 30 minutes.
Looks like you're well on your way. Have fun.
