New Race Track

I know it's been talked about for a few years now, looks like it's open for racing in 2011!

Al, in looking at the track it looks like you enter the banking coming on to the front straight and carry through turns one and 2. Then you duck off in a left hander, then a 90 degree right hander, through a tunnel (?) then out to the outside of oval race track part. Then back under the track through another tunnel and back on to the pit straight. I do hope it gets built as I hate having to tow through Toronto to do a race. Now you will have to, LOL.

This was supposed to be built near me (comber) but unfortunately the locals decided that they didn't want their shithole town made nice by millions of tourist dollars.

I'm glad that it's FINALLY happening somewhere though!

I would happily tow to a facility where the fans can watch most of the race........but it look like most of the road racing would be done outside the seating area...sighhhhhhh

Looks like some small elevation changes for the road course as well...looking at it on Google Earth.
But they'll probably bulldoze that (half of the 'hill' appears to be destined for parking lot)

yeah, that's exactly what it is. It's the location to bring NASCAR races to Canada with a proper facility that can house enough spectators, and have a sufficient campground area for the tailgating and partying.

I suspect the proximity to a major US city factored in the decision as well.

what's wrong with nascar?

Are YOU afraid of the millions of dollars it'll bring here too?

Top level racing only serves to make the real world stuff happen that much more.

I don't even understand most of the Nascar hate I see on this forum. Would you rather they build a football stadium instead? where NO racing happens?
