Need Some Tires

So to do the 3 Hour I have brought my big truck out of retirement. I have done a ton of the small stuff thats been left alone for a few years, but now I am stuck on tires. The existing tires on the truck have dry rotted and before I load the truck I need new or used black things. I have called all over and been all over the interweb thing but nobody has them in and can get them to me in the next week or so. I don't mind good used and I have even been on the phone with tirerack, but they don't have any that they can get to me in time as the sizes are really odd and they have to order from BFG.

This is what I need;

Front 9.50x16.5"

Rear 33x12.5x16.5"

I may be able to squeek by on the fronts, but the rears are at least 20 yars old and as hard as rocks.

Anybody with any ideas????

Eric

PM Buggy, He works at a Tirecraft, but the 16.5" rim is going to kill you!

I already punched in those numbers into our system and nothing came up. I can call to the warehouses, but I agree the 16.5" rims are going to suck. I doubt there will be anything in stock anywhere. It would be a special order deal.

16.5 is ford I do believe.. you can go to a dealership and see if you can get a cheap set of stock take offs. I know they sell them real cheap but i am not sure if ford still makes this size rim

Yeah, its a 76 Ford F250 Supercab Camper Special that I got in Vancouver. Its in great shape mechanically and it just needs newer tires to make it safe. Its almost easy to find the fronts (a used tire store has a set in Oakville) and its easy to find rears that are monster mudder swamp buggy tires, but I only use this on the highways and the rear wheels are 10" wide and 16.5" tall. BFG are the only ones who make new ones, but nobody can get them in for me quick enough. Its also a standard military size as well, if that causes any ideas to form.

If I had known it was going to be this difficult I would have started looking sooner. Tirerack will sell the BFG's to me for 189 a tire, so landed will be about 550. They can't be sure I will get them in time. I will go with the BFG's if I have to and use my Explorer next weekend, but its a very heavy load for it. Thats why I am asking here for ideas.

Maybe try Marshall (i'm the mainevent) on here, I'm pretty sure he works at Cambridge Tire.

Or try this guy, they will get you rolling...

Well, I found some tires. i contacted Delta Tires in Tennesee and they used to make a Pro-Comp with a streetable tread. They don't make them anymore, but they put me in touch with their distributor in Toronto who had 38 tires lie the ones I needed.

I bought 2 and I am good to go. I am now rolling on Pro-Comp All Terrains, made by Cooper (I believe) and they have a streetable tread and a D load rating.

Thanks for the help and I am a happy camper now!
