Need A New Motor
Need A New Motor
Help!! The seals just went on my mint 1986 rx-7 motor. It only has 140,000 kms. The motor only has 25% compression left. I can't seem to find a garage in Ottawa, Ontario that will fix it. Does anyone out there have any leads besides the terrible RX-7 Heaven? I think that they are even out of business now. I look forward to any advice.
FOR A SECOND i thought i made this post, was scrolling down and i thought i saw my name lol.
Are you looking into rebuilding the engine yourself? Get a complete kit and do it yourself, great learning experience lol
If your looking for an engine look at these sites.

Call Danny Manning, (pm me for info) or Mark at MazMark auto in Toronto 416-751-0071 or Joe at RPM in Walkerton 519-881-3145 all are very experienced and very good! Danny will build you an engine, but not install it, Im sure Mark or Joe would build it and install it.

Why go to the states?
There is plenty of good engine builders in ontario. Shipping would kill you?
There is also Mazdee's in pickering.
Also the others mentioned by 01racing are all good too.

Wasn't going too but went back to him to get somestuff done. i was just bitter on some of the work previously but he very much has surpassed any missgivings on this last job I had done. (They really didn't do anything wrong. You know me
)Lots of work and I am happy. No complaints. He has always been great to me and always done good work. Watching his mechanic work on my car and the time and the little stuff they did to the car made it far better then me even trying to attempt to do the work myself.
Just added a shop so that other people who may not know who is around can call around and make a decision for themselfs.
Here's a list from this thread and others I've been adding to over the past couple months as I also need a rebuild.

Don't trust everybody
Do your homework on rebuilding your engine. yes you can rebuild it yourself and buy your own kits the secret is balance. most shops do not balance your rotors with your eccentric shaft thats what you should look for.take the time to go look at the set up and ask as many questions as posible
