My New Toy

I just bought a new car for my daily driver, LOL. It will spend most of its time under a car cover.

Luxury, gorgeous looks, handling and speed. I have been looking for one since my deal fell through last year and this one became available, the price was okay, it was low kmh, the car was in great shape and still had warranty on it. It's British Racing Green with the Bone Leather interior. It also has the R1 Option package which changes the wheels to uberlight 18x8 BBS Wheels with 255x40x18 Pirelli Zero's, monster Brembo's (same as on the Ferrari F40) and enough torque and HP to outrun the same model year Vette. It also has CATS (active suspension) and handles like it is on rails.

For you performance guys, it will do a 0-100 in 5.2 seconds, run around 13 seconds flat in the quarter and was speed limited to 250 kmh. If you switch off the traction control it will do big long smokey burnouts like a Hemi Cuda.

I love it! I have attached some photo's from its clone car as the weather has bee too miserable to shoot pictures.

Just a happy Jag Owner.

Eric

It's a gorgeous car Eric. Keep real good care of it as you ride out the rest of the depreciation curve, and I'll be happy to take it off your hands in 5 years.

Very nice. Be picky while it is still under warranty. My warranty on the 740 just expired but I had about 4k worth of marginally necessary work done in the last 6 months.

Smile

pd_day - It is a 2003 XJR with the R1 package.

Jamie - I will take really, really good care of it. I don't think
I will want to get rid of it in 5 years. LOL.

Lawyers Spirit - I am Budd's worst nightmare right now. They are replacing most of the interior wood and repairing some leather for me. As well they have to check out a rattle in the front end. I have purchased the extended warrenty on the car which will cover it for another 3 years and up to 100K. Man, I don't want to have to pay to repair it. Its going to cost me $2,000 a year in tires alone.

Feds has been looking for this type of Jag for awhile now...

Great car. It's got some monster options on it!

Keep the paint right side up...

Nice. The passing power and highway pull on that thing is giggle inducing. Love it.

So I guess that you didn't buy the one you drove back in October eh? I guess it just took 6 months of "you know you want one..." being whispered into your ear by the little devil on your shoulder.

Nick, it is giggle inducing. Even my wife smiles when she dips into the throttle. I wouyld have bought the car in October, bought the seller pulled the deal off the table.

Actually I am happier with this one even though it cost more than double.

Al you would definatly smoke me. Maybe we could have a burnout contest between both geezer luxostompers!!!

If it does 0-100 in 5.2 secs how can it only run a 13 flat?

I think you mean 0-60 is 5.2 and 0-100 is 12.8.
None the less nice car.

C/D says 13.9, but still that's awesome for a 4000 lbs car. This is the v-8 supercharged one right? Anyways, nice car, in and out!

Thumbs up

Finnacky, I agree with you. It doesn't make sense. I was just quoting numbers from the Car and Driver test and the Auto Report test and the factory Jag information on the brochure.

Just checked and this is the information from Car and Driver test, but remember mine is the supercharged XJR with the R option pack:

0-60 mph (approx. 100 kmh) - 5.2 seconds
0-100 mph (approx. 160 kmh) - 12.3 seconds
1/4 mile - 13.2 seconds@106.2 mph

Based on this information, that more or less follows everyone elses withi n a tenth or two, I assume that the car launches hard, pulls strong through the mid-range but the speed limiter must inhibit it at top end. It could also be that the cars weight of approx. 4,000 lbs has some effect as well.

Regards

Eric

That makes more sense. Otherwise your Jag's 0-100 was faster than some of the fastest 7's on here.
