My build thread...
Just joking! It sure would make an awesome project though. Check it out!
Pretty cool eh!? I'm dying to get this thing running. It's all over if someone pulls up to a rotary meet in a Ro80!

Where is this baby? More pics and details please!
Oh and uh...are there links from the steering to the headlights? Just curious...they were supposed to have some sort of system that adjusted the headlights into a turn.

It belongs to my friend, and I have no idea how he got it. I don't know how rare replacement parts are but I would imagine finding stuff wouldn't be easy. I think the car is pretty much complete though. I hope hes interested in restoring it, it would be an awesome car to have.

Yeah pretty crazy eh! It has a semi-automatic transmission too. It has a typical manual transmission shifter, but with only two pedals on the floor. I think this car was pretty far ahead of its time! Its a late 1960's (I think) model but it looks a lot newer!
From Wikipedia:
"The car featured an automatic clutch which was commonly described as a three-speed semi-automatic gearbox: there was no clutch pedal but instead, on top of the gearknob, an electric switch that operated a vacuum system which disengaged the clutch. The gear lever itself then could be moved through a standard 'h pattern' gate."

Engine parts are still available in the UK, but you'll have to do ALOT of phoning around. Ask me how I know....lol
Keep us posted on what he does with the car.
Edit: Didn't I post some pics up of the Ro80 a customer of ours has here in Ontario?
