Its getting close to that time again............and this may be the last..........BEMC is giving us track time at the big track at Mosport on their May 4-5th weekend. Same rules as always apply........Minimum $25.00 donation to Sick kids Hospital, 15-20 minutes of track time, longer if only one group. Must be over 18, passengers allowed, helmets not required.

If rumors are correct regional racing will not be at the big track after this year, but on a new course they are building at Mosport combining the DDT and Oval Track. I dont know if this is 100% true but the rumors are rampant. Please email me if your interested abrracing@rogers.com. We only have about 30 spaces available.

Lots of you have been coming for years and its usually quite fun. These are not "parade" laps, the pace car (me) goes as fast as the cars behind permit.

That would kinda suck if regional racing leaves the big track. I must say, I'm not sure if the new owners are doing the right or wrong thing with the track at this point.

I unfortunately can't participate as I doubt my engine will be broken in enough by then.

 

The new owners have invested millions the track already and will probably put in millions more. Wether or not they make it unaffordable for the regional guys is a big question, the events are now $460.00 just to enter. That doesnt include cost of fuel, tires etc or the cost of fuel towing there and back. Even if they still have the option to race there regionally, I for one will not be able to afford the entry fee's.

 

That is a good point and a sad thing for the regional racers I think. I worry about the costs going up for spectators as well though. On the flip side though, it would be nice to get more big events there.

Okay so this will be the protocol for our lapping. You MUST be at registration between 9:45am and 10:30am on Sunday to sign in and get your wristband/windshield sticker. Anyone not there by 10:30 will not be able to register, in past years we had people trying to register as we were going out on the track! We will meet at 11:30 at a predetermined area ( I havent been up to CTMP yet this year lol) and then we will form into our 2 groups. BEMC is always gracious enough to let us grid the same as the race cars do, so right after group 1 leaves the pits group 2 will then grid.

There is absolutely no passing, no hanging back and trying to get a run on everyone etc. The pace car will go as fast as the last car in the group can keep up. We will have the regular BEMC pace car at the back of the field and keep in radio communication between the lead and rear car. Group 1 will consist of the people who have done this before or have track experience, group 2 will be the newbies or people who wish for a slower pace.
