Just a question

I do and I have. No problems. That said, I do have a DD as well - but I can't stop driving the FD, I have no impulse control and I love the thing. It doesn't go out in rain, snow or tornadoes though

Daily drove it the first 2yrs I had it. As soon as spring hit, the car was out on the road. Then around November (sometimes even October) she would go to sleep for the winter.
In those 2yrs I managed to put on 40-45k on the clock. She had 48k when I first got her. I was practically at 100k when I stopped daily driving it.
If you're not going to do preventive maintenance, you're going to be in trouble.
Near the end of her daily driving routine she broke her AST, cracked her rad end caps, and came close to over heating twice.
She was a lot of fun daily driving, but I got tired of washing her every week, worrying where to park, worrying if anyone would scratch her for no reason.
As soon as I had enough cash I got another car as my daily driver.
At the time I was doing a lot of driving for service calls and what not. So you wouldn't know where the client would be.
She's been a "sunny day, mild temp" weather car for the past 13-14 yrs. Damn! Has it been that long??
If you're strapped for cash or don't plan to keep the car for long, daily driving it shouldn't be a problem.
If you have the means, get a 2nd car as a daily driver. There are very few FD's out there which are in good shape. A lot of them haven't survived. Which is a shame since there's nothing else on the road which can match the FD's curves.

My FD is my fun car. She's too good for risking in a random traffic accident or parking theft/vandalism. I'd say that for daily driving, reliability and security are priorities – people will try to steal your car, and the general grind of city traffic and short trips are bad for any car... heat buildup (e.g., the 401 parking lot and rush hour/weekend traffic) and not letting the car warm up fully on short trips (over 20 minutes) as well as poor mileage and no passenger/cargo space make the FD an impractical daily driver. With reliability mods, the FD can be driven daily, but the GTA isn't a great place for it... winding country roads would serve it best.
