Importing a long-block motor from the US
Importing a long-block motor from the US
So I'm looking for a new motor and may end up getting one from south of
the border. I've never brought anything like this across the border so
what are the things to look out for? duty, fees, etc.

Is there a reason for getting a new motor shipped up from the U.S.? Are you getting a really good deal on a long block?
I'm just wondering because there are plenty of motors available within Canada and shipping across the country isn't much at all, then you dont have to worry about duties either.

Well haven't heard much good feedback regarding resellers of used motors
in Canada. There's decent places to rebuild but I'de rather get a "new"
used motor than rebuild my 160k miler (not km). It would seem I can get
an S4 Jspec longblock to Vancouver for about $1400 CDN including GST
and shipping.
I'de actually prefer buying in Canada but anybody worth looking at?
