ON Idle problem

I can't get my 84 GS with stock 12a and carb to idle smoothly. I'm pretty sure this relates to what my Haine's manual refers to as "Main air bleed control solenoid valve". One of the inlet nipples is broken, I was able to repair once but have not been able to this time. Should I replace this solenoid? or is there a way to by pass it.
If I need to replace it does any one know where I can get one? I don't have any trouble driving the car without a decent idle, but it makes traffic a bitch to negotiate.

Thanks in advance, most of the car guys I know think a carb is what you should load up on before you compete.

I have no idea what that is as I have a Sterling modified Nikki which is pretty much a bare carb. I've also NEVER heard of it, but that doesn't mean it's not there. I just checked my Haynes manual and it made no mention of it in the carb rebuild section. If you send me a pic I have a couple spare carbs lying around I may be able to send you the part. Go to www.sterlingmetalworks.com and join the forum. Great bunch of guys there and Sterling really knows his stuff. You may even manage to convince yourself to ditch the stocker and go with a Sterling. You would not be disappointed. PM or email (orion_77_@hotmail.com) me a pic of the part and I'll see if I can find it.
