Well I dd it today, after over two year without my RX-8 I bought a used 2009 R3 for my daily driver, and sometime tracker. My FD will still be in the stable, but I missed my 8 so much I just had to buy another one and I can't wait to pick it up on Wednesday. Two rotories I must be getting senile or dementia is setting in, or maybe it the cheap gas prices.

$1.20 is now cheap gas hehehe
Rx8's are pretty inexpensive now. I've thought about getting one for my DD too but I just can't do it. My job still requires way too much travel, and while they pay my mileage I can pocket much more of it with my Echo. Ugly little bugger but I've squeezed out 955km for only 42L of gas
PS the car looks great!!!!

No, I'll be taking the FD. Ian, like I said to you the other day your welcome to be my passenger/co-driver. You just can't show up to BCM in a Corrolla, it's just plain wrong!

Plus it's not butt ugly like the Echo.
I would welcome double the mileage but I think the insight is even worse looking. Plus my echo is an 05 and I paid 3k. It would be a very long time before I made up the $5,000 purchase price
Congrats! I've considered the RX-8 many times because of its magic combination of build quality, reduced emissions, carrying capacity, and great handling – also, I'm glad they're being sold for such reasonable prices now.
^Missed this.
Only had a half hour in the car with a couple of back roads but definitely tighter in the corners and the recaro's are a real tight fit with my aging mid section. I guess I'll have to cut out the beers and the chocolate bars or I'll just not fit!

Awesome car but just can't justify spending that money on a car that gets the same fuel mileage as a 2nd gen and the same if not worse reliability. But damn are they comfy, great options and sound awesome...plus 6 speed is a bonus. (Derp guess I answered by own question those are the reasons why you buy one)

Pampered?? In a sports car?? You know you're getting old when....
The thing that annoys me most when I jump from Miata to the FD, is not having the same tech that I'm use to in the Miata.
I don't have bluetooth connection from my iPhone to the car and I don't have an auto dim/homelink mirror.
I desperately need to update the tech in the FD to bring it up to par.
Apart from that, I enjoy driving the FD whenever I can.

On the truck I did Bluetooth, auto-dim rearview, heated front and rear seats, and I'm currently working on heated mirrors...none were existing options for that truck.

Don't get me wrong, I know they're easy fixes. Just trying to find the funds is the problem.
Regardless, no more thread jacking!
Congrats again Rick on the R3. Hope to see it soon
