I Have Been Marked Forever!

I posted this in the large Lounge tattoo thread, but I figure most people aren't going to be reading that thread any time soon...

For a few years I've had a tattoo design in my head that is unique, obscure and highly meaningful to me. As my brother currently sports quite a lot of ink, he hooked me up with his artist and gave me this as a birthday/Christmas present.

The image is a diagram of the timings on a bridgeported rotary. It's based on an image from Rotary Engine Illustrated which I've tweaked. I had to remove a few of the timing lines as they would bunch up and create a mess.

It's about two weeks old so still healing slightly. But overall it's healed and has turned out really well.

It's also quite difficult to take a picture of one's own back.

It's a sticky?!

The best part is that it's nearly impossible to explain this to the normals. Start talking port timing and they glaze over. First I need to explain what a port is...after I've explained what a rotary engine is. Generally I say "It's something in my engine".

Your official! I don't think you will stop at only one. It's addicting. As for the sticky, you can have whatever you like Aaron.

Dam,
I was considering something myself but nothing that big.

Cool. I think you will get alot of questions on this. For sure nobody else will have this tattoo. Very unique. Generally all tattoo's look the same to me.

That's neat. And when people ask what it means, you can act all aghast and say "What, you [I]don't/I] speak Latin?".

Actually no. Tina's timing is a bit more conservative and I honestly don't remember what it is (been 5 years since I built that engine).

wow i am amazed.
that is truly impressive.
Mr. Cake you are the biggest rotary nut i know...yes, even bigger than the flywheel nut on a 13b (zing!)...lol

any idea what you might want to get next, if anything?

i've always thought about getting some ink...but i could never settle on something that i could for sure say i would be happy with 5, 10 years down the road. but such is the nature of it i guess.

Wow, that full cycle of the rotary looks awesome. I've saved it, but I don't know if it's tattoo material.
