hi all

Hi to my fellow Canadian forum members

I'm a total RX newb but eager to learn as much as I can about the car.

I recently bought an FD from a friend of mine and I love it. I can't wait until spring to start driving it again.

It's a 1992, jdm import, and my friend bought it with a blown engine as a V8 candidate.

Over several years he completed the swap, but found that he never drove the car, so he put it up for sale.

I really would love to learn more about the suspension/chassis and how to get it aligned for optimal results.

It's primarily a street car but hope to use it for some light track duty as well. If it proves reliable, I will probably start tracking it more.

I'm also hoping to learn more about the interior, since I have some work ahead of me in this department.

I hope you all will forgive me for any newb questions I might ask in the future.

Anyhow, glad to be on board.

Cheers

Welcome.

If you have not found it already, there is also a site just for those who have put a V8 in an RX7.

First thing to do is head over to the third generation FAQ and that should answer a bunch of your questions

Thanks guys, will do

I have the FSMs and have been looking at them here and there.

I already did the flasher mod (preventing the fast-flash)

and replaced the turn signal and tail/stop bulbs with LEDs

I also tried fixing the odo, replacing all (I think it was all?) the capacitors, but to no avail

So I'll be on the lookout for a replacement speedo

Also have some door lock and power window switch issues but I will search more about that before getting too much into it lol

The car's under a cover right now in a messy garage lol

But I guess since spring is around the corner I should really get my *** in gear and start getting stuff ready haha

Here's a couple pics of it in the meantime

oh, my, lord baby tunderin' jesus that is a purrdy lookin car mister. Congrats on that purchase, and welcome to the club of course.

p.s.
It's gotta be from the boosted red hues and the desaturated background or other weird processing you've got going on in that first picture but the body kit looks photoshopped. Looks legit in the second picture though. Meh

RXeckless, the hassle is half the fun. If we aren't troubleshooting problems, we'd have little to talk about.

I liked reading this thread...
