help! window stuck!
hey guys, just need a little advice... driver side window in my fd will go down no problem, but when i try to put it up it gets stuck. had this problem 4 about 3 years. i play around with it and i eventually get it up, but now it seems harder and harder to get up! im assuming its the motor.. and if it is, where can i get one? besides the dealer? any advice would be great. thnx....
oh by the way, im a little off topic but do engine torque braces work? and if they do, whats a good brand and where would i get one?

...Except that a dealer will take all of 15 minutes but charge for one hour--- unless he finds that the motor needs replacing (even though the real problem was lack of lube in the mechanism, a 5-minute fix). In that case he'll take one hour but charge for three--- plus the exhorbant cost of the motor.
On the other hand, a novice could have the door panel off in 15 minutes (it takes five for me btw) and probably spot the culprit within ten minutes. Take it to a dealer only as a last resort. If you still feel uncomfortable doing this yourself, and there's a forum member in your area with an FD and some know-how, pick up a case of beer and pay him (or her) a visit.
