Has anyone recently transport large car part from Canada to USA?
I have a question to ask of those who live in Canada.
I'm planning to meet someone from Canada in USA to exchange some parts. No money will be exchanged just swapping car parts.
Wondering if any of you have brought car parts into USA. Especially a larger parts like body parts (ie, bumper, hood, etc)? We are both slight concerned about US border not letting him in to USA.
Any info to prepare for trouble free crossing would be greatly appreciated.

Give him a bill of sale for something like 10bucks, leave your number and expect a phone call, thats only if they stop and ask. You are allowed to bring back 100/day free, if you go over for one day, if you go over for a week you can bring back close to 1000 I think.

I've done it on many occasions with large parts, like hoods/bumpers.
they'll just give you a BS hassle like "Why dont you just get these parts in canada?" ect.
if the guy is canadian and trying to get back into canada, they will care less, short of him saying that he has 10 pounds of crack and a dead hooker in his trunk, they will usally let him back in no questions asked. I once told the border person I had $400-600 worth of car parts and they just let me pass multiple times.
oh yah, and I found that just telling the guy that you're going to a mall or to visit family or something for a few hours usally works better than telling him your going to pick up car parts.
