Hamilton Area Owners:where do you get your work done?

I was curious where you guys got your work done on your car (engine, suspension, body, etc..), who you trust? (If you don't do it yourself)

As for suspension and other types of installs Focus Rim and Performance will be your closest source - ask for Ace, he's their Rx man. (905) 318-2856 They are located at 1070 Rymal rd. east. (South side of rymal by rymal/ottawa)

Work around here is done on our own. There are not many 7 owners around here (but that seems to be growing as of this summer) so there are no 7 shops to visit. With patience and a place to do it, most work can be done by yourself.

For starters go get yourself the bible, AKA the Factory Service Manual (FSM). it has every breakdown of the car so you can take things apart yourself.

Not to bash or anything, Ace is a good kid, but i would not go there for any PERFORMANCE things. They are ok for rims and hyper lights, but I have heard some stupid things come out of that boys mouth. They are all youngins that just want to pimp their rides.

For my S5 N/A: I was going to get a FULL tune-up from Mountain Mazda and get them to flush and fill everything as well when spring comes.

Next spring I have to find away to get it to pass e-test before all the res tof the additions ( ACV removed, EGR blocked, TB stripped and ported, no cat), this process I'm searching like a mad man to find out how everyone else has done it.
I have a manual rack to replace the PS that I'd like to install.

I've got front and rear sub frames blasted and primered and I have a set of Energy Polyurethane bushings to throw on,but don't have the equipment/knowledge to do so... yet anyways.

I plan on getting a full exhaust (Rb headers, Bonex High flow cat, maybe corksport cat back (havent decided that part yet))

I have an aluminum hood that needs painting and will be in need of a front bumper which will also need painting.

Hopefully in the summer I will have an SAFC hooked up and will then need to get it tuned, I don't know how or where for this.

regardless of how many stupid things Ace has said.........it all depends on perspective........and the guy asked where he could get stuff locally, as you know there aren't any strictly 7 shops around here, close anyway, because there isn't the market for it - and out of the existing performance shops in the area Ace is the one of the few who would actually even begin to know where to look for RX parts. Go to Lethal rides sometime and ask them for side seals and see what kinda dumb answers you get.

So out of the choices for general performance for your RX in hamilton what other options seem far greater?

Not to say that they are the be all to end all down there but they are as close as the hammertown comes to a Rotary friendly general performance shop.

If the guy had asked specifically about turboing his wankel I would have told him Jon at Boost is the man to see......

If a guy has verbal dierea would you trust him with your car.... Ask Northern7 how smart they wee at ordering simple pulleys.

Any performance parts i buy are usually from the net, if i can get it locally i will go to Performance Improvments (over Focus). I have had the best luck with them for local buying of parts.

If you need factory parts I have spoken with Paul @ Mountain MAZDA, he will honour 15% off all parts to members of the RX Club of Ontario.

For tunning DL Motorsports in Burlington is a good bet. He has a dyno and full tunning capabilities
