I've had the chance to play it a bit more... Had to wait for the component video cable to arrive via bro..
I think the last time I saw the completed sign it was at 6.5% or something like that...
And I have about 20 cars now... Most of the rotary powered. Except for 2. That Nike car that C-Murder mentioned and a Toyota Marathon car of some sorts.
The rest are either rotary powered or Mazda equivalents...
It's a bit of a pisser you can't use some cars in designated courses... For example the Mazdaspeed6. I was going to use that for the 4WD courses... Unfortunatey in the stats it's unspecified what drivetrain it is... So you can't use it... Fortunately I got the Mazda6 Touring Car not too long afterwards... So I got rid of the 4WD courses...
I only have 2 cars left I really want... The 787B and the McLaren F1 LM car...
I noticed in one of the events you can even win a Mercedes McLaren SLR?! I still haven't gotten my IA license... so thankfully I couldn't participate... I would have been outclassed for sure...
The game is great... It's even better now that I'm playing it in Hi-Def.... Woohoo!

Aj, Thanks for the list!! I needed that...
Now I know which races to go after...
RidiculousRX7, I can't see which car I'm gonna win... I just look at the competitors on the track... 1 way or another they can be won... so I was suprised to see the SLR on the list...
Doesn't matter now... Just a few races I have to complete to get the cars I want.

well i was only at about 12%, but still. that's a lot of time wasted.
and i had about a dozen cars, 3 of which i had built and could run 10 sec. 1/4 times, and do the nurburgring in under 7 minutes...

30% done, nurburgring 24 hour was a bitch doing pit stops every 3 laps in a nissan 89c race car (from mission hall 30-34.....not to mention 34 @ nurburgring with a mercedes slr....took forever)
but now i have a white formula race car and feel comfortable winning every single race now.

I'm starting to warm up to the new dynamics of the cars over GT3.
GT2 had the best handbrake action and drifting
GT4 has too many races where you need street tires, understeer is annoying.
The best improvement on GT4 driving is that you can now brake and turn at the same time to improve entry speed. GT3 was more the classic "American racing style" as Mark Donohue puts it, where you do all your braking before the turn in then use the grunt to power your way out. GT4 I find you brake almost to the apexes; more the "European racing style".
I've found it's more fun not to use the limited slips on the rwd street cars.
STATS
Completion 57% and some odd
100+ cars (there's a lot I like)
A-Spec points (not sure what they do... and not sure how many I have)
B-Spec points (haven't bothered with the B-Spec yet)

I've finally had the chance to play a bit longer today. But things are starting to get tough regarding the missions. The driving Missions that is.
I've done the first few and got the DeLorean. However the next phase of the mission is practically impossible!! Especially the first race! Crazy.
I've widled down some of the cars on the garage. I'm done with alot of cars I don't care for. And now the garage is composed mainly of rotary cars. Which is want I want...
I'm determined to get the BMW McLaren F1 GTR. That's the only reason why I want to complete the major races. Other than that I need to complete the endurance hall roadster race so I can get the RX7 LM edition.
After I get those cars I'll concentrate in learning the major world circuits. And of course some of the original courses...
The game is great... A bitch to learn after you were use to the way GT3 handled... '
So I'm only 21% complete... I can't be that far from victory now...

Hey I wanted to compare two cars by running b-spec in 2 player battle. The manual says it can do it but I don't see how. Does anyone know how to get it to work?

Question:
Can you only win the Rx-7 LM edition from the Roadster endurance race in the silver colour?
I think I've found the quickest way to make money (at least to the point where I am in game progress)...
10 MINS. = $870,000
- Get the CLK touring car, tune it to the fullest, put stage 4 turbo on etc.
- Go into the German Touring Car races in the European Hall
- Drive each race in B-Spec
- Hit R1 to see the mode with the track picture and then L1 and tap the d-button right to speed up the time to 3x
- Set to 5 [push] at the beginning and hit the triangle to turn on the overtake option, get the lead then set it back to 4 [fast]
- As it is a championship you will be able to skip at least one of the 5 races to save a bit of time and still win overall
Each race nets you 15k and the championship payout is 75k. The Benz you win at the end is worth upwards of 700k when you sell it

raven bc,
Unfortunately I have no idea how that could be done... I haven't even looked at the possibility of playing the game in b-spec mode... A-spec mode is alot more interesting to play (at least in my books.. )
Mr. Eccentric,
You can only win the RX-7 LM edition in the roadster race... The colour is random... So you could technically replay the enduro all the time and collect all the colours you want... But it's always going to depend on what the computer decides to give you at the time... sucks, huh?
coldfire,
Good to here you're up to 10% again... That must have been alot of playing (even though you didn't play non-stop)
I finally got that lousy Toyota 7 racer from completing the required missions... Man was that a PITA to do!!! Stupid missions require you to pull a miracle all the time!! I have no idea how many times I tried Suzuka and the Infdeon races!! God damn time counter was the killer!!! All this so I can complete the world classic race in the professional league... What a hunk of junk that 70's racer is!! All tire spin and absolutely no brakes!! I have no idea how that Shelby Cobra is able to maintain such high speed around the nurburgring!! Crazy computer cheats all the time!! Regardless, I finished that segment...
I had to resort to buying another lousy car to complete the Supercar race. The Saleen understeers like a bitch and has absolutely no brakes!!! And of course the computer competes with concepts!! They sure make the game difficult...
All this so I can unlock the Extreme league...
I'm hoping once I get to the Extreme League I'll be able to compete right away for the BMW McLaren F1 GTR... I'm curious to see how it handles... I hope it's everything it's cracked up to be...
Other than that I have to do the Roadster race in the Enduro hall... and hopefully once I complete the pro league I'll have at least 25% so I can go in there! lol
The game is addicting... Fustrating at times but at least you learn how to extract the most time from every track...

honestly, sure there are over 500 cars, but how many of those do you actually WANT to own, and how many of them are redundant
