Got another question
Could you have your car dump boost based on fuel pressure? So if I got a digital FP gauge, and my pressure dropped I imagine it would show a different voltage. Is it possible to have it then dump boost?
My thought is if my pressure dropped I must be lean, and there for heading for trouble. If this was possible it could react quicker than I could respond to the gauge.
I know you can not do it based on AFR because you are leaner at idle/cruise compared to WOT.
Any thoughts?

I know it normally doesn't but what I was hoping for is.....
Let's say you had a digital FP gauge, and at an unsafe reading the voltage was 2.5 ( for argument sakes ). Could you have it so that it triggered a solenoid or something else to dump boost there by saving your engine.
Very similar to how AI kits have fail safes I suppose.

Quite possible (with time and money) and a pretty good idea, Double_J. It would take some finagling, but it would be an interesting project. You need to find an electronics nerd who's into programming and creating controller boards (a few of them out there who are into building robots and such) and you might even consider making a smarter system which would take a signal from your wideband to trigger your wastegate solenoid.

I had asked at one point a bout the wideband but was told that wouldn't work because you are leaner at idle, and cruise speeds. Since that idea didn't work I was trying to figure out another way that would possibly signal a lean condition.
This could also be useful for track goers too. When they make hard turns, and the fuel can run away from the pump ( yes I know they make things to help that problem :P ) but another fail safe wouldn't hurt.
