good place for a rear end rebuild?
good place for a rear end rebuild?
hey all, just like the title says, a good place to get the rear end of my 87 turbo rebuilt in calgary. also what is the price range for this, i know it depends on the condition and what not but could i get a best and worst case price?
thanks alot

I had my 84 GSL-SE Limited slip diff rebuilt with new shims etc. for $800 I think. that's from a place in Ontario.
depending what you want to do with the car, you might be able to find a decent used one for a few hundred and just switch the whole rear end. they should be good for almost 200K kms unless you're doing lots of track stuff with it.
hope this helps

i will be beating up on the rear end pretty good. the car is a street car for "fun", dont think it will see much track time. a ford 5.0l will be under the hood so a lot more torque will be running through it. all i think i will need is a stock rebuild, could any tranny shop do this?
well i havent built the motor yet but it will be a 302 ford with afr heads cobra manifolds and lots more, i think about 350ish whp not too shure on torque yet. the tranny is a t5 out of a 89 mustang(the tranny is the weak link in the setup but i have looked it over and driven it as well, i have never ran the diff so i want to be shure it dosnt come apart) as far as tires not shure yet, the car is still in project/build up stage but i am trying to take care of as many lose ends and potental problems as possible and the diff is right now one of the biggest time bombs i could see.
