Getting my FD appraised for Insurance purposes

Hey Guys,
I still need to get my FD appraised as my insurance company (TD Meloche) will not give me full coverage (collision) without getting the car appraised due to it's age. Has anyone had their FD appraised recently? Looking for a good place in the GTA.
Thanks,
EC

I think I paid about 110$ last year for mine here in MTL.

You should make sure the place you'll choose is certified by the insurance company. ie Call TD first and ask them is company XYZ ok to do the appraisal?

If your FD isn't a daily driver and not crazy modded, and you have 10+ driving experience and no claims, may I suggest "Silver wheel" insurance program, through Aviva Elite?

You should def check it out. I pay 400$/year for full coverage with only 100$ deductible and that includes coverage for the appraised value of the vehicule.

I looked into the Silver Wheels insurance but my FD is my daily driver during the summer months and I wouldn't qualify due to KM's. I will put on approx 12,000 km's a year which is way over the limit to qualify for the Silver Wheels insurance. I beleive it was 5,000km's max.

Yes, I do believe 5k is about the max for mileage. They seem flexible with that though. They basically told me "as long as it's not the car you use evryday to drive to work".

Also, you're supposed to be obliged to have the car stored in a garage the winter. I told them I just have a carpole in my backyard and they were ok with it. I guess they figure if you're dumb enough to not clear the snow on top of it, you won't be smart enough to shop for your collector car's insurance... something like that.

Bottom line is it's a great insurance package if your Rotary isn't a grocery getter.
