Gas Tank renewing/re-coating/rebuild?
Anyone ever get their gas tank re-built/coated/whatever they do to refresh it in the Hamilton area? I opened mine up and it has a ton of crud in it. After replacing most of the lines this winter it'd be ashame to just let this slide.
You should check on the price of a new one. Depending on the amount of work required it cost up to $250 to get yours fixed. The last one I sent out they had to cut the top open and blast the inside of the tank then weld it shut again, coat it and paint. I don't know who does it in your area though, sorry.

I've had two tanks re-done, and in retrospect I would think twice about doing it again - because of price.
They did an awesome job refurbishing the tanks, sandblasting the outside, steam cleaning the inside, sealing up leaks, then coating the entire thing in a polyurethane coating... the first tank was already in good shape so it was only like $300, but the second tank had a pin-hole leak and ended up costing only slightly less than it would have to get a new tank shipped up from Mazdatrix.
So check around to see if anyone in your area (dealerships, etc...) can get you a brand new tank for under $400 before you get the old one re-done...

The've done motorcycle tanks for me for cheap. If its just a flush and a coating, it will be fairly reasonable.

I've priced out a brand new one for $340, and Barton said I had to bring it in for them to look at as they couldn't say anything over the phone, so far options are looking good. Thanks guys.

They lined my meth tank and they do all kinds of that stuff.
