People aren`t reading the tread and making comments.

This used to be my car I imported it with a clean title the accident occured in ONT by the individual who bought the car from me. It wasnt bad at all but insurance didn`t want to fix it.

With that said they are asking too much for the car as I sold it for a little over $10 k in good condition and thats what the market would bear for that car. Otherwise its a clean chassis that has never seen snow or salt as it was originally from the southern states.

FYI. It has a fresh rebuild that was done before I picked it up in the US.

Which it should be (on paper, that is) if the car was in an accident and written off by the insurer - as Rotary Pwr has confirmed (again ) the accident happened after he imported the car and later sold it, so it should have a Ontario accident report, the insurance write-off record, and the repair record from whoever did the work (this last, of course, would assume the dealer had the work done by a legit shop) - again, I assume that like most provinces, Ontario requires a mechanic and/or a body shop to sign off on repaired write-offs.

All of which adds up to the stink of scam on the part of the dealer now trying to ask top dollar on it but refusing to disclose the accident history; I'm sure it's a nice car, and the damage didn't look that severe in the photo's (although the fact the roof was dented would be cause for concern), but I wouldn't trust the quality of repairs; since they are trying to hide the fact it is repaired, they likely also did low-buck cosmetic repairs (lots of bondo), and hoping to turn big bucks on selling it to some unsuspecting person.

Saw this on CTV W5 over the weekend, on dealers pedaling badly-repaired write-offs in the BC Lower Mainland http://www.ctvnews.ca/w5/investigati...-off-1.1207469. BC supposedly has requirements for separate safety and mechanical inspections of repaired write-offs, but W5 and the Automobile Protection Association found 4 of 8 cars they checked out at 8 different dealers had badly repaired damage that made them unroadworthy - yet all had the government-mandated inspections saying they were fine - clearly performed by shady shops and mechanics.

Could not have been said any better Also, anyone who buys this car would be entitled to take the car to their own personal mechanic to examine. If anything is structurally unsafe or is being sold as a "safe car" and shows signs of unsafe things such as brakes, or shitty body work you can easily report this to the MTO and have the person who issued the safety fix it for free. My pops is a licensed structural and safety inspector and we get tons of shady cars that show either obvious issues with the frame from having to remove parts to see that shitty welding and bondo they used to hold the sub-frame together
