F1 Season 2008

Go Hard....or Go Home
I actually watched bits and pieces of the race and it was nice to see the drivers actually have to think about the throttle instead of just mashing it to the mat at the apex of the corner. I wish F1 would change the points system so that more than 6 cars were actually running at the end. Funny they dont show Kimi, Bordais etc as retired when their engines had expired?
ps. Bristol was still a better race! (lol)

The attrition rate was very high in this race and always is in the first race of the season.
I watched bits and pieces if Bristol but it looked more like a demolition derby than racing.

Actually I believe there we more crashes in the F1 race than Bristol this time! There were a couple of spins, a fire and then Tony Stewart and Kevin Harvick racing for the win when they touched. One thing NASCAR has is exciting finishes.
Does anyone know why F1 classifies the car still running even though it had stopped with a problem?
ps I still hate the new C.O.T in NASCAR

I really enjoyed the race! Sepang should be entertaining, and a bit more steady. They really needed to shake the rust off in Australia. I personally don't think that the lack of Driver Aids had anything to do with Kimi's off. He made a mistake by putting a wheel on the grass uder breaking. Neither engine braking or TC would have kept him on the track!Rule 45.2 of the sporting regs says that cars having completed less than 90% of the number of laps covered by the winner, will not be classified. So basically the guys who crash out or stop in the last 10% of the race will be considered as finishing that many laps down.

Sorry Jason I cant agree with you regarding the ALMS series. I watched some of it and the grid count was horrible. 5 LMP1 cars (premier class), 10 LMP2 of which 1 never started so that makes 9, 3 GT1 cars 2 of which are factory C6R Corvettes and 15 GT2 cars. If that is the grid for the biggest race of the year for these guys its pretty sad. I can only imagine how many will actually show up for Mosport. I much prefer the Grand-Am cars, and I know your going to say they are lumps compared to the ALMS LMP 1 and 2 cars, however they had 25 of their top class cars and 41 GT cars at the 24Hours of Daytona! That makes 66 cars racing vs 33 at Sebring!
just an opinion, please no lawyers! (lol)

Oh my word, if you thought sex tape scandals were limited to the Paris Hilton's of the world think again.
Max Mosley just took it to a whole new level.

well thats it.... im never drinking tea again!
maybe more videos of raikkonen's partying will surface up again
Maybe he's trying to follow NASCAR's (and WWE's) lead and make F1 a lot more about the personalities and drama...

It felt like a make or break moment for Massa. If he botched this one up I think many would have counted him for the remainder of the season. But I was happy to see him bring it home.
I wonder whether Alonso brake checked Hamilton's nose off or whether it was just a Hamilton screw up. I'd like to see the telemetry on that incident.
If it wasn't for Kubica's bad start he could have made it very interesting. BMW certainly better race pace than I was expecting.
I think the Iceman is going to take the title again this year.

Well, apparently Alonso did nothing wrong. Telemetry says he accelerated normally. McLaren claims that Hamilton's nose broke just prior to the ramming incident, and that Lewis actually accelerated into Alonso because of it.
Now the poor British press is without a story.
I'm glad to finally see some racing within Ferrari without team orders. I really want Massa to give Kimi a good run.

i was watching the ITV (British) coverage of the last race, oh man they were convinced right away Alonso purposely did something in that incident, haha.
i'm hoping that BMW improves just a little bit more than Ferrari and McLaren do on the next update package in Spain. ever since that crash at the Canadian GP Rob Kubica is my new favorite driver.
