ON Explain RCL for drive clean like im 5

Never before had I needed a conditional pass this badly on my DD but my wife's car needs an etest in March and we're shooting for a conditional because it has 3 codes, 1 for an air pump and 2 for o2s. ( It's a VW by the way )

I need a breakdown on the Repair Cost Limit.

Is the first test included in the limit ? Or just the retest ? Do I need to do repairs up to 450 ? Including diagnostic ? What if the sensors are 400 to replace but the air pump is 700? Do I need to do the sensors ?

Funny how my vert just passed emissions easily... well I look forward to your replies.

Basically you need the first test ($30) then SPEND $450 on emissions related repairs (not including diagnostics) IF you still fail then the inspector CAN write a conditional. The inspector has to be a ministry certified emissions repair technician (can't just be any licenced tech or emissions inspector).

To get a conditional pass your car has to have had a full pass on its previous test; and it will need a full pass on the next etest.
