Emissions?
Emissions?
Hey guys. In Huron County, in Ontario, we don't have emissions testing. I'm curious though, do you know what the government's plans are for e-tests? I heard that they will be scrapping DriveClean. I just don't know if when I get my exhaust system, whether I should get a presilencer, or a cat? Also, do we have noise laws in Ontario? Would a cat converter just be a good idea anyway? If so, I'll be getting a freeflower. Thanks

I'm in Bruce county. I just put on an RB header and presilencer. Man I love it. Cops haven't bothered me at all. Yes there are noise laws...but you'd be fine if you don't tramp on the throttle in town or while passing a cop. Still idles extremely quiet. Last I heard was that they will be scrapping it all together. Diminishing returns basically.
if you don't have emmision testing where you are i would just get a nice presilencer
the ones i have sound full since the walls are so thick so if i ever got stopped and a cop tried to hit them (if he could actually reach under the car) he wouldn't know they're not Cats..

i got pulled over 26 hours after having my new exhaust on, they just don't care in bruce grey.

you know what i realized? there's no emissions testing where i have my car either!!
and here i was freaking out about having to get e-tested.
lol.
this is ******* great.
aaanyway,
there is no noise law per se, just if someone complains you may get in trouble...as long as you have "stock" emissions equipment and a proper muffling device...even if it's loud, just try not to draw attention and use silencers if possible. that's what i do. haven't been pulled over...*yet*

Nope not me, but I know the guy that owns it. I have an FC, but I still don't live much farther past Timmies. If you come into town from the north, you'll pass Tims, keep going and you'll come to a bridge (.7 Km). I live right up by the bridge.

My cat isnt clogged anymore.
Either way no one really answered the question. My car ISNT in a "emissions restricted" area and it did have a clogged cat before. So is it illegal for me to be running a gutted cat then?

lol, driveclean sticker! i have one of those too
oh, and just because you are in one of these "non-emission restricted" areas doesn't mean you can run without your cats. i think the law is that you are not to touch or replace anything on your emissions equipment unless it is an OEM part or certified aftermarket item...
