e-test results look strange

Hey Guys,

I just took the FD in for an e-test yesterday. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she passed but the numbers look kinda funny.

Curb Idle Test:

HC ppm Limit: 200 Reading: 2
CO% Limit: 1.0 Reading: 0.31

ASM2525 Test:

HC ppm Limit: 64 Reading: 0
CO% Limit:0.35 Reading: 0.00
NO ppm Limit: 485 Reading: 397

Car has intake, dp, cb, and I swapped out the pettit ecu for the stock one right before the test. I also set the ebc to 7psi just to be safe with the stock ecu.

How can the readings be so low? What do you think?

hmmm, well a rotary that is running fairly lean, under no or light load, actually does not give off that many HCs and CO, but the rotary is quite the producer of NO.

but your HC readings almost seem non existent, haha. i don't know...but hey you passed.

Looks pretty bang-on. High NO means you have high combustion temps. I tested very similarly with an LS1 with no air pump, EGR with new cats and running higher than normal temps.

Hi, I had a quick question. Why did you swap your ECU when the Pettit ECU is only supposed to make any sort of change when in boost? I also assume you lowerd the boost to 7psi for the drive to the e-test since they do not go into boost during the test.

The reason I am asking is I also have a Pettit ECU and need an e-test soon. Although people tell me the maps are the same as stock during the condition of an e-test I still may swap it for the stock ECU just in case but part of me wants to keep it in to see if it will pass the way it is.

your cat works well, and your car is running lean, at least at idle.

Yeah, I did it just to be sure (it only takes a few minutes anyways). I lowered the boost because I didn't want any spikes when I was warming up the cat before the test (i.e. driving under boost).

isnt that a 2 speed curb idle test....

ASM2525 Test:????

that test is for 4 wheel drive vehicle in which they cannot put on a dyno so i was told when i had my RX-7. its the easy way to get a pass. couldnt tell you why but thats the test where they cant hook you up to a Dyno.

Great results though!!! Congratulations!
