Except there is nothing wrong with using a synthetic oil.

Yeah, I've been using synth for 8-9 years now in my 22 year old, never opened motor. Seems to be doing alright on it, I keep driving the **** out of it, and it keeps coming back for more.

I certainly wouldn't use synthetic oil in a totally stock rx7 with a working OMP and factory cat convertor.

Ditch the cat, and run pre-mix. Use synthetic oil all day long.
