"clicking" from Rear wheels

87 Tll with calipers rebuilt about a year ago, Hawk HP+ pad with no more than 20% wear.

Recently, on very light brake application, I get a fairly loud rotational clicking from the left rear wheel. Firmer brake application and the noise goes away.

Can't see anything visually wrong...any ideas?

Get a brake hardware kit from your dealership. It's just a set of shims (thin metal plates that go behind the brake pads.) See if that and a good dose of anti-squeal doesn't clear it up.

could also be your caliper is slightly warped.

do you mean warped rotor

sorry ..to correct ..ya could be small lift on rotor or pads shakin in the calipers ...shims will fix the rattle ..you can "turn" the rotors to make them even..or replace..my $.02..while its up..diff fluid level check.

Thanks for the suggestions.
Diff fluid was checked in the Spring...but easy enough to look at again.
Feel no no vibration braking, so I was not suspicious of a warped rotor.
Clicking is very 'metalic' sounding and seems to occure once per wheel rotation.

^^ good thought but not likly. Wheel bearing tends to have a un-predickable vibration more noticable at high speeds. My mom's died a month ago.

I'm gunna agree with worn out or broken brake pad hardware. even make sure that ur return spring didn't get bent to the air fins on the rotor.

Does this clicking happen high or low speed?

Sorry to hear about mom!

Most noticeable at relatively low speed - 40 km/hr and low....but that might be less 'speed ' noise to mask the sound.

Rebuilt calipers in the Spring with the new pads.

Not bearing noise for sure.

Best suggestion so far is to shim the pads.

hot spot?

could be a hot spot on the rotor also..ya me again ..input! ..a little bump on the rotor..another thing (could be)(ME and my ideas)..back your e-brake off a couple turns at the handle ... it could be draggin a little bit..if not adjust it up again..that's free!GOOD LUCK and ya I will try and let others post!!!
