In Car Video Available for Download

Just finished downloading some in-car video for all of you to enjoy. The first 2 are of first lap commotion back in 2004. I will also be adding additional video's relating to fast laps at Mosport (a series of 1:38.2's) and some battling with other cars back in 2000. An interesting note is that in the longer video refering to the Ontario Challenge Cup 2000, I have a battle with Al Balinsky's car before he owned it. It is really wild to see it storm up the straights but loose time in the corners.

You can view them by going to Google Video and searching based on "Nummelin", 2 video's will be already up and 2 more will come up in the next few hours.

Instead of me describing it, you can watch it.

All 4 Videos Are Up Now

Just to let you know that all 4 videos are up now for you guys to enjoy. The one from 2000 was when I raced in the Ontario Challenge Cup Championship. Lots of tightly packed cars. The rules at that time and still in CASC GT A,B,C,D races are that you have to race with a breakout time. Most of the class leaders can actually go faster than the breakout time so as a driver you end up trying to run as close to a certain lap time as possible. This artificially bunches up the cars as you will see in the video. When I ran in the class I was flat out just to get close to the time, where the other guys could run at least 2 seconds faster and this shows as we go up the back straight.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

I just watched them again, yeah reliving the event, I noticed something interesting. Watch the video from 2000, then watch the ALMS 3 1:38 lap video. In 2000 the car was twitchy and slidey (is that a word?) doing 1:42's. With the addition of my shelf table rear wing and the 6" front splitter the car barely slides and looks easier to drive. The spring rates, shocks and tires are the same, actually the tires are exactly the same set. Jamie will concur as he and Kristen got the fun job of scraping off the old rubber with a propane torch and a paint scraper before the race.

Aero works. I now need to drive it harder and go faster till it gets slidey again.
