Canadian Election Predictions

Without disclosing your political affiliation (unless you want to) lets hear your predictions for what the Canadian Government will look like after Monday. The winning predictions will all receive broken promises.

I think the Reds may still hold a minority government when all the smoke clears, but it will definately be a minority gov't either way (red or blue).

well no offense to any libreal voting Canadian's but i hope that the liberals don't get in cause i don't like how all my money is freaking wasted, i would rather see a majority Conseritive government due too i know Stephen will atleast try his hardest to due what he has prommised. funny thing i really think Jack laton needs a small slap, he thinks that private health care should be banned...... okay why why not let rich people pay for they health care, cause if they do then i get in faster cause they are not trying up the hospital, like where is his head at? just my thoughts, not ment to stir anything up i'm nto intending to offend, so if you do well then just shut up. this is just a statement not saying we should have a schoolyard fight.

I think private health care isn't that great of an idea without big restrictions. If unrestricted private healthcare is enacted, we'll see a huge brain drain from the public healthcare because all the knowledgable doctors will persue the higher paying jobs by the private healthcare system. Thats just my thoughts. I do not want a liberal majority - particularly because of the proposed hand gun ban. This is going to cost huge amounts of money and will not solve the problem. I think that money would be better off put towards the military and policing - what harper says he'll do. I might also add that Hapers financial plan is the only one approved by the CBoC and other outside sources. The liberals are still hiding theirs. I also like Harpers plans for stiffer punishments for criminals.
As for my prediction - Minority Conservative government with a Liberal opposition

And don't forget your employer is supposed to provide you with enough time to vote on Monday. So no excuses for not voting.

People in Canada pay for health care.. why not allow someone to pay more to get more. The people that complain seem to think that the world owes them not only the free lunch that the social programmes offer now, I'm perfectly happy with the health care system as it stands.. and my wife is type 1 diabetic.. ( except for the odd hassle that has more to do with food and drug then the health care system.), However if she needs an operation or I do.. whatever then I'm going to want faster service. So keep it in Canada or like most of my family and people I know, they will go to the US.

Only pluses can come of it, reduced loading on the general system, it will keep those millions going to the US IN Canada, keep the doctors here, instewad of using the Can system to get part of the education paied for then buggering off to the US..

Too many people work the 'system', too many people want everything for nothing and want to deny others the ability to have more then 'they' have.. too bad deal..

I see liberals back in as a minority with less seats, the green party bleeding votes from the liberals garnering a higher percentage of votes but no seats. conservatives gaining seats and the NDP loosing a few.

6 votes in the house split between green and liberal.

I predict conservatives, as much as I hate 'em.

I'm voting NDP. I hate them the least.

Im voting conservative. Main reason why is that the liberals have done so much damage to the system, how can the conservatives do any more? At least we'll see a whole new path of destruction with the conservatives. Damn Tory's.

I vote for something different. Not that there are any good choices.

Heres an Idea. I vote for ED V.

Being this is my first election where I can vote, I'm voting NDP.

I have no party affiliation, however. I don't like Stephen Harper, and I don't like the Liberals either.

I want tougher punishment for crime -- harper

I want property rights -- harper

I want out of kyoto -- harper

I want a military I can have pride in -- harper

I want to scrap the gun registry and put the money into police -- harper

I want to see all the people involved in all the scams arested, charged, and jailed. this will only happen under harper. martin will sweep it away.

I want lower taxes -- harper will probably save me more. martin might help others more. but the above stuff is more important to me then a few dollars.

I want private and public health care. --harper and martin. laytons out to lunch.

I can't think of a single policly from Martin or layton that I'm interested in.

I'll predict a harper minority which is too bad. because then likly not much of the above will happen.
and then we'll be doing this again next year

If Martin wins I'll probably start job hunting in the US

some of the ridings will be interesting and fun to watch. I think landside Anne will finaly go, putting alberta 100% blue. Goodale is fighting for life right now too. and so is martin in his own riding.

you know the liberals are in trouble if the top 3 members can't win their own seats.

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind seeing a Conservative minority govt, but Harper scares me too much for a majority.

Personally, if by some miracle harper get a majority government, were all screwed. I may be wrong in saying this, but I think he is too close to the big guys in the states to be trusted. Also, I have seen him lie on TV before. They showed the debate, then right after on the news they interviewed harper and he actually contradicted something he said in the debate. He can't even seem to keep his own lies straight. Another thing I noticed in the debate is that he seems to beat around the bush while answering questions, and most times never really answered the original question. Martin seemed more able to properly answer the questions with a to the point type of answer. Fact is, harper seems to be just trying too hard, if thats possible. I'm voting liberal.

huh? harper is the only one answering the questions.

and anyone that thinks he's linked to the US needs to stop listening to Martin's lies.

that's all Martin's campaign is, lies.

www.electionprediction.com forcasts a riding by riding outcome. The most probable outcome would be a Conservative minority. They're calling the Liberals + Block + NDP at 150 seats and 56 too close to call. That means that those 3 parties only need to win 5 of those 56 and its a conservative minority. Some of those "too close" seats are between 2 of those 3 as well.

Guys not to bust you bubble but Politics is all lies.

Liberals have been honest with their wrong doing and yeah they should pay but give it a rest the media had brainwashed you into thinking they are all evil.

Think Mulrooney he did **** 100 times worse than the sponsorship scandal so conservatives aren't better plus their policies are horrible for our economy.

If Conservatives win our Dollar is fucked, our internal debt is fucked and trade is fucked so all of Liberals work to bring us out of Mulroney is just gonna bring us back to the same spot.

NDP! try something new.

I'm saying Conservative minority.

I agree with those who say Conservative majority is scary. Personally, I voted NDP (on advance poll day).

Alak, the NDP will probably never form the leading party in the gov't. (lol, was that supposed to sound so dispairing?). While they have gained alot of support this election, it's mostly because of what we've seen here - people going for the third alternative. In my mind the NDP chasing leadership are like a dog chasing a car - wouldn't know what to do if he caught one. (coughBobRaycough). But they have a good platform in my mind, and will stick to their guns giving whoever's in power a good fight.

I'm not going to get into why I voted for who, or what I think of the parties because that is not the purpose of this thread.

The purpose of this thread is prediction of what the house will look like:

Conservative minority
Liberal opposition
relatively strong NDP showing
more bloc than last time, but still less than NDP
A green seat or three.

And to get anything done, the Conservatives are going to have to negotiate with the NDP or bloc to get it past the liberals. Good luck to them on that

Jon
