AB Calgary spring meet

Collecting some suggestions. Gonna look at a meet sometime in may. How far do you guys want to drive. Just meet in one spot? Or...meet and cruise to another location? Want a restaurant involved (A&W, DQ, etc etc)? Prefer saturday or sunday? What time, noon, afternoon, evening? Hoping for a good assortment of cars.

Okay, it'll be a tag along with the rx8's. Let's see if we can swamp this with some 7's guys!

They would suggest we meet up in the NW as people are less likely to get lost through city traffic if we can just turn onto Crowchild and go. The Rona in Crowfoot is an excellent place to meet as they have a huge parking lot and there is a Petro Canada and Tim Horton's within 200 feet.

May 10th @ 10:00 am at Crowfoot Rona.

Leave for Banff by 10:30 and grab some grub when we get there.

Sounds like a plan.
Why Banff? Ya gotta pay to stop in the park, don't ya?
Why not Kananaskis Village? They have parking, scenery and grub...with no entry fee. My 2cents.

I thought you only had to pay if you were staying overnight, or is that a misconception?

You gotta pay if you stop in the park (not just overnight). It's no pay if you're just passing thru (ie to Golden or Radium, etc)
Ya ever see the Mounties at the Sunshine exit during ski season? They're checking for day passes.

Good idea, this can be reviewed at the meet. We don't all have to follow the other group. An if someone wants to jsut drop by they don't even have to take either trip.

Hey Gary, I'm sure I saw you about a week ago headed south on Deerfoot at about McKnight - at least, I saw a red FB with a blower sticking through the hood

I'll try to hook up with you guys as you pass thru Cochrane. I'll park by the road at about 10:40 and watch. If I miss the convoy, well there's always ice cream!

At the very least I'm going to show up. Not 100% sure yet on whether I will be doing the drive to Banff.
