ON Bearing Noise?

I have a washing machine noise coming from the driver's side rear axle, I think. Am I right in thinking that this is related to a differential bearing? Does any one know where to go for diagnosis and repair? I suspect that this is out of my league. I'm located in Kingston so generic advice is fine.

washing machine noise? like when it runs across the room or like constant running water?

I'd suggest driving down a decently smooth road, swerve left and right if your turning left and there is no noise then your good. if you swerve to the right and you hear a noise from behind your seat. louder then driving driving straight it's probably your wheel bearing. the front are fairly easy but the back bearings are pressed in and a PITA to get access too. so unless your quite mechanically savy the best bet would be to take to any certified mechanic. wheel bearing aren't rotary specific so it isn't something they haven't replaced before.
